- first 'ceramic consecration' with free-fired pottery
    with Gunther Neustadt in Dresden in 2002
- later with varying intensity
    and temporary interruptions
    active in a group of ceramic enthusiasts
    with different ceramic techniques
- various objects in Raku technique
    also in pictorial plan ceramics

Ceramic techniques
The ceramics are fired and usually glazed in color.
The ceramic images are fired in artistic plan ceramics using the Raku technique.
A special glaze was used.
In addition to interesting colors, the special glazes provide a tangible structure in the surface.
Some pictures are framed
    - in solid oak frames or
    - in open frames in wood imitation on glass.

Rainer also uses other pottery techniques.

Style of ceramic images
The design style shows itself as modern, symbolic art
  - partly using means of organic representation,
  - reinforced by strong colors,
  - confusing formal language,
    but understandable composition
  - inspired by expressionist art
    with almost naive or surreal representation,
    expressionist art
    with elaborate and small-scale representation

  in an extraordinary ceramic version.
